Karla Elgin is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist in the State of Florida and Telehealth provider.
She takes a holistic, integrative approach to counseling and health care and is trained in psychotherapy, family systems, EMDR, and compassion fatigue.
With a passion for missionary care and cross-cultural counseling, Karla served with the International Mission Board’s Member Care team in Southeast Asia as a counselor intern and worked in Texas as a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist Associate counseling refugees. She has traveled to countries in South Asia and Southeast Asia, as well as Central America, to provide counseling services and trainings in the areas of disaster mental health, trauma, and lay counseling skills.
Along with her work overseas and with refugees, her experience includes counseling the family and general community from the local church setting both in office and online. And, in the area of addictions, Karla worked as a Licensed Chemical Dependency Counselor Intern in Texas in an adult residential and outpatient addiction services area providing individual and group counseling. Her most recent trainings have been in the areas around trauma and Christian Sex Therapy.
